The Dark Night

It’s been a while since I has seen a movie on opening day, but I would have it no other way. Before I even get into my thoughts about the movie, YOU MUST go see this movie as soon as possible. You don’t want to hear about all the amazing parts from your friends now do you?

Me and my Dad went to the 11:00am showing and it was PACKED. People were standing. Just like the movie, I’m going to start off with a bang. Number 1: this movie is 2 hours and 22 minutes long but not for 1 second is there a lull in action or plot twists. Number 2: Heath Ledger is phenomenal. Thank god he got to finish this film before his passing, and what an amazing way to go out. No doubt in my mind he will receive awards for his roll. Number 3: THANK GOD again! Maggie Gyllenhaal replaces Katie Holmes in the roll of Rachel and brings a lot more personality to the character. She’s not just another bimbo. Number 4. Amazing action scenes with sequences that you’ve never seen before. Number 5. Have I mentioned Heath Ledger? He takes you on such a roller coaster of emotions in just one scene. Laughter to scared out of your mind even to the sense of feeling sorry for him. Number 6. I now see why the “sequel” to Batman Begins took 3 years to make. There are so many layers to this film that in my mind I keep remembering little snippets and scenes that stick with you. Very thought provoking. Number 7. GO SEE IT IN THEATERS! this is definatly NOT a movie that you can just brush off and say “ill rent it when it come out on DVD” NO! you have to go and appreciated it on a grand scale. best $5-$10 you’ll spend this summer, because I’m sure you don’t enjoy putting it in your gas tank.

WALL-E

So me and Chance went to go see WALL-E today. went on a little date. I think everyone should do that every once in a while. so we went to the Aloma Cinema Grill, which is a great place in Orlando that you can watch a movie and have dinner at the same time. there were quite a few kids there but as soon as the movie came on you couldn’t hear one. was cool how the movie reeled them in, even though there is very little dialog. WALL-E is definitely Disney’s not so subtle slap in the face to us Americans. “THIS is whats going to happen if we continue living the lifestyle we do” I haven’t heard anyone lash out against Disney yet that this movie was not suitable for kids or blah blah blah and maybe that is because everyone realizes it IS the truth. I loved the detail to the animation and the work that went into the film. Loved the short in the begin, something signature to Pixar. I think the short was better than the Old man playing chess with himself in the beginning of Bugs Life. All in All its a great move for kids and adults. We saw a lot of different families at the show and everyone will take something home from it. a WALL-E watch if you go to the Aloma Cinema Grill.

So we got news last week that one of Chance’s very close friends who is our age is going to be having a baby. I don’t know if its just me or what but im pretty sure i didnt get the memo that said “its perfectly find to have a baby when your 19″ I mean do you really think someone who is not even old enough by law to drink a beverage is mature enough and in the right mind to be a parent? i mean its not like “okay so my stomache gets big for 9 months and the baby comes out and its will totally be like when i was little with my dollies.” NO its not like your dolls! you cant just throw a baby in the closet on top of your tennis shoes when you get bored with it. its constant care and attention for the next 18 years of your life. i mean at 19 youre not even dont growing up yet how you can help a life grow up. am i the only 19 year old on this planet who see’s outside of this box? i dont know its just very frustraiting to see people have such low respect for themselves that they wouldnt have half a brain to really think about the consequneces of their actions.

Something else that angers me beyond belief is that people who have it worse off than i do, financially, don’t worry about a damn thing. they just talk about buying new cars when they cant even make the payments on the one they have. or they talk about being a full time student when you know the only reason they want to go the education route is so they dont have to get off their lazy asses and get a job. and me and chance work our asses off for everything that we have and we stress like crazy but other people dont have a care in the world. ITS NOT FAIR! if you want to be taken seriously and be treated like an adult you should act like one.

JAMAICA!

So we found out yesterday that we (my family) are going on another cruise this year for Christmas! and we are going to Key West, Grand Cayman, and Ocho Rios Jamaica! We are going on the Carnival Freedom a ship that was built last year! We are super excited! and now i have 6 months to figure out what every bodies t-shirts are going to look like!

David Cooks wins American Idol 2008. I think he was a star from the very beginning. plus he won me over by singing Bon Jovi for his very first audition! No doubt David Archuleta will get a record deal so no one really loses but Cook has such stage presents. Everytime he sings its like a mini concert and thats a true winner.

cloverfield.

okay so finally after being in the “very long wait” category on netflix, Cloverfield was delivered to my mailbox today and i was prepared for the nauseating camera work and i was prepared for like scary alien mutant minions to fly out at people but i must say after ALL the hype and excitement, i was disappointed. I KNOW the whole point of the movie is that you are just watching a tape that was found in the middle of central park after everything happed BUT THATS what i didnt like about it. no back story. no clue as to what happends afterwards. some parts of the movie are super unrealistic and it sucks because the whole movie is supposed to be more realistic than a stereotypical monster movie because of the first person filming. ie: Beth being alive after like 5 hours of laying there with a steel beam in her shoulder?  Both Lily and Marlena are running through the city for quite some time with heels on? all i know is that im glad i did not PAY to see it in the theater and i think if i had it would have been more nauseating but it was entertaining for 85 minutes.

Caspian. What a name

So me and Chance celebrated our 5 year anniversary again today by going out to an extravagant lunch at….le steak and le shake and went and saw NARNIA: PRINCE CASPIAN. Food was good, movie COST US $20 FOR TWO TICKETS!!!! the movie started at 3:15. MATENEE stops at 3!!!!!!!!!! what a rip off that is. People who don’t want to spend a tank of gas at the movie’s will have to wake up and go at 8:30 in the morning. Besides the fact that the tickets were outrageous the movie was good. i don’t know if it was as good as the first but I’m excited to see the third installment. I don’t know if anyone else noticed this because i haven’t seen it on any movie sites but, in all the scenes where it showed the “cave drawings” on the walls in the hideout, the drawing of Susan, the oldest girl, looked like she was pregnant. Could be a clue. i don’t know. I’ve only read the lion the witch and the wardrobe so i could be mistaken. i would defiantly recommend seeing the film just as long as you don’t have to pay $20.

Delivering flowers is another job that i think everyone should try at least once.
